Fantastic hike up the Vallee du Manchet to the FERME DE l'ARSELLAZ....to catch up with Marie Pierre (with Bruno below)....souvenirs! souvenirs! Her father was a friend of Bruno's way way back... Bravo! Marie Pierre and Laurent, the chalet looks gorgeous! What a position... Except for 2 or 3 days, the weather here has been extraordinary...so lucky! Sadly, the time has come to leave the beautiful French mountains and back to reality.... we are well rested, well restored, relaxed, and very eager to get on with the rest of our lives. Next week we will start house hunting in earnest...I have a book full of contacts for visits (private seller and agencies).
Therefore, closing down the posts on this website....'Pacific Pearl' is no longer ours. Maybe in the future, I will create another, depends? Thank you all for following our cruising and other adventures over these past years.... please do keep in contact....Bruno & Judy xx PACKING ALL FINISHED! End of a chapter.....onto the next!
Pacific Pearl will remain on the hard for the time being...then young new owners will sail her to new adventures! The French flag will be replaced by an English one! Well, she is an English built yacht...Oyster. Below, with Ejner on her 90th birthday. The huge tapestry in the background, I bought for her in Paris, many many years ago.....she spent 12 months working on that one. Not forgetting all the others!
My Mum loved her tropical plants and flowers....... A SUNSAIL flotilla did come in for their end of charter BBQ....but they were very discreet.
Check out the camping car below....a big high 4 wheel drive.....they had the 'beach' to themselves....even had solar panels and a TV antenna!! Zen! As planned, we are moving around the local anchorages until end June...in order to be readily and rapidly available to show 'Pacific Pearl' if a prospective buyer appears on the horizon! There has been a little more interest by e mail, plus a few visits...BUT unfortunately no 'serious' offers. Definitely becoming busier in the area....more and more boats around every day. We actually had our first 'swim' of the season on the 15th May...a very quick 'in and out' as only 19.5 degrees...in super calm conditions. Dear Canadian friends, Barb and Con, 'BIGSKY' have recently launched and kindly came down to find us....wonderful to catch up and hear all about their winter adventures in Canada, Panama City, Poland, Holland, Curacao....busy people! see slideshow below.... The huge 63ft 'Spirit of Gaia' entered our bay last week with the owner/designer/builder onboard..well into his 80's...see photos.. James Wharran is an amazing man who built Polynesian style catas...his book 'Two Girls, Two Catamarans' relates the story of his previous two boats in which he sailed around the world with always a female crew...fascinating reading, as begins in the early '50's. Thank you Pam and Roger for sharing the above with us. |
