The route took us over black volcanic rock and old lava flows, very productive rich soil.
Pistachios grow in abundance and the wines from this region are well reputed.
Not forgetting the thousands of citronniers....
We zigzagged south via the small roads to arrive finally at RAGUSA ...just 30 mins from 'our home'...RAGUSA has many monuments and churchs which are UNESCO listed.
All Baroque of course.
I have not gone into the history of Sicily, that would take me forever .....but so complex and interesting!!
We were greeted by 40+ knots of south easterly winds in the Marina, with 'Pacific Pearl' really healing over, but fortunately well attached by the solid Marina mooring lines.
Today we are the 29th April and the winds are still blowing south easterly, 20-25 knots..... which direction are we heading??? East of course!
Anyway, we took advantage of the bad weather and car to visit all the local supermarkets ....we are now well charged up!
