This time we are sitting it out at Ormos Dhespotico, a large bay between Nisis Dhespotico and Andiparos....used in the 16th and 17th centuries as a hiding port for pirate galleys. Excellent holding in sand, we have 2 anchors out in tandem, plus 70 metres of chain...
As I write, it is blowing 25 - 32 knots, but unfortunately not completely from the north, actually more north-west sending in a bit of chop through the two shallow narrow channels....normally the winds will increase tonight and tomorrow, before hopefully dying down slightly on Friday?? on verra?
Today, we will not be leaving the boat, but yesterday afternoon we certainly enjoyed the bright red sunset with ouzo and mezes at Captain Pipinos taverna ...with Cherie, another Aussie, and Gerhard from Austria, who own a beautiful French Amel called PEPINO...we have not caught up since our wintering together in Lefkas 2013/2014. Plus us girls, both from Queensland, have also been drinking bubbly on our boats the nights before with lots of tchatch!
Pepino will also be patiently awaiting a drop in the wind and sea conditions, as the planned route is heading north into the Saronic region.
Last night we needed extra bedding, temperatures dropping slightly, The end of season is fast approaching.....
This coming Saturday, Australia will play England in the Rugby World Cup....hope our internet reception is spot on wherever we may be??
