The weather is beautiful, blue skies, sunny warm days, but cooler for sleeping thankfully.
Back to the attractive typically Cycladic blue and white....houses, shops, churches are dazzling white cubes with splashes of natural colour from the bougainvillea and other colourful climbing plants . Such a contrast against the barren rocky steep slopes, as most of these Central Aegean Islands.
Our sail down yesterday from Siros was rapid, moyenne 8 knts with plenty of 8.50 -9..knts..in strong Meltemi conditions, especially the heavy seas...max 30 knts of wind.
Reminds us that our 'Pacific Pearl' is a very safe, sturdy, comfortable fast cruising yacht!
Fortunately it was a short sail...now we will patiently sit out the rest of this Meltemi in our protected pretty bay at Paroikia on the west coast.....excellent internet connection which is just great, as the Rugby World Cup starts on Friday....many matches to watch!
Originally, our plan A was to sail to Naousa on the north of the island to join friends. However,
the conditions were definitely more agreeable when we chose our plan B...such is life when sailing.
Below, I could not resist adding a few photos of Paros taken during our past visits.....
