Continuing on, just a short hop and lovely sail over to Ormos Kalando, SE corner of NAXOS, see photo....typically barren, but beautiful clear water. However, as sheep and goats roaming around the beach, we did pick up quite a few flies!
Next day, off to another favourite from the past...Ormos Manganari, southern IOS....only a few late season tourists wandering along the pretty beaches....so enjoyed hearing the goats scrambling over the rocks, the few beach tavernas were closed, and we shared our part of the bay with a 3 fishing boats....Must have been the best protection from the extremely strong gusts...
no other yachts, no flies!
Bruno even braved a swim, so tempting as turquoise blue, sandy bottom... but my goodness it was cold! Especially as completely open, right out in the middle Cyclades!
From this bay, we had the most amazing views over to THIRA/Santorini, only about 10 miles further south....spectacular with the setting sun.
Last stop was ANAFI, our first time to this isolated desolate rocky island.....we did not find the courage to climb right to the top to visit the chora....another visit! We preferred to enjoy our aperitifs admiring the view.....early night as 5am rise next day for our last real sail of the season >>> Spinalonga Lagoon in Crete.
