Big Merci Bruno!...as usual, you prepared yummy food which we devoured rapidly over lively conversation, which went on, sometimes very late into the hot calm evenings.
Plus, we were very fortunate to have glorious weather, clear skies, mostly great visibility, and blood red sunsets. Except for the last day, when a huge thunderstorm quickly passed over, which was highly appreciated to wash down a very dusty dirty 'Pacific Pearl'.
Each day we managed some short sails, then anchored in many different bays, starting in Ormos Neorion, ...one of our favourites on Poros.
Next stop, after slowly motoring in front of the pretty port of Hydra, we spent a night in Ormos Molos, ONLY 3 yachts, crystal clear water, anchored in 8 metres, such marvellous surroundings and, a new discovery for us....we will return.
Strong southerly winds the next day, so after a lazy morning in our protected bay, we wizzed across at 8 + knots with just the genny out, to Ermioni on the mainland, bypassing Ormos Dhokos....exciting for our guests....they loved the action.
Ermioni is a very likeable village, which we have now visited many times...moored at anchor just off the lovely green pine clad peninsula enabling Drew and Ebony to stretch their legs...bay was very calm inside, but out around the exposed coast the seas were very rough. More excitement, when the big Aussie flag got caught up at the top of the mast....must retrieve it before we leave!
So, guess who went up? Very early the next am before the winds came up.....Bruno had Drew to assist him, so they pulled me up quick smart!
All successful and Aussie flag came down with me. No damage fortunately!
Hydra and Spetsei are both very popular tourist islands and one can see why.
The water in Ormos Zoyioryia is so turquoise and clean, 2 gorgeous cute chapels...all in all, we love it there, but not with northerlies!
In order to have a comfortable night, we just popped over to safe protected Porto Kheli opposite, with the spectacular setting sun and our aperitifs already in hand!
Next day time to head back to Poros, but we did spend a long lazy afternoon anchored behind Nisis Soupia...possibly the clearest water of the area, with lots of tiny fish. Again, a sunset aperitif cruise back to Poros where we dropped our anchor in 4 metres of sand in Ormos Porou, all alone, as we love it!
The following morning, the light was just perfect for photos as we motored through the picturesque channel to Navy Bay....great to find a spot in less than 10 metres, as a deep anchorage.
Our two young easy going Aussies spent a touristy afternoon in Poros town, before heading back to 'Pacific Pearl 'for their last night onboard.
Followed by a rapid trip on the fast Flying Dolphin up to Pireas ..... to continue their voyage onto Rome by plane.....with 3 more weeks of playing tourist in Italy, France and the UK.
We loved having you, Ebony and Drew....you are very welcome whenever!
