Unfortunately, we did not actually visit the town of Split itself. We were not far... visited Trogir and the stunning surrounding bays and islands. Pity, but will do so when we return later on in the season heading south.
There are so many beautiful islands and bays, plus interesting towns to explore. It will be impossible to stop everywhere, what we miss now, maybe we will catch later on. Appreciating so much all these new experiences....
Today we are safely anchored off ROGOZNICA, on the east side of the town by the causeway, settled in to watch the big match tomorrow. Australia/Lions final rugby test match. Going to be very exciting!
Only about 14 yachts at anchor tonight, nicely spaced, calm, which is not bad considering that last night there must have been at least 35 in the big bay, ViNISCE, further south..far too many for our liking!! But, admittedly there is a huge marina here just over the other side of the peninsula...looks to be very full. ( and very expensive we believe!)
This afternoon, we watched an amazing Wimbledon men's semi-final ....fantastic match. Bravo! Then there will be the men's final on Sunday...not forgetting that a young French girl will be battling to win the ladies final tomorrow... The 'Tour de France' has also started! I wonder when we will eventually arrive in Venice?
Our internet connexion is via the local serveur 'VIP'...therefore, we are able to watch live sports, TV or films. ( eg.Film on TV, HaHa sports etc.). Our computer is actually connected to a TV screen, which is easier to watch as slightly larger. Naturally we are also able to mail and Skype etc. unless connexion is not available, which is rare around these islands.
