Had a tiring afternoon yesterday, after a very early start from Pylos: great sail in the beginning, then as the winds picked up, with short choppy seas against us, we finally arrived early evening at KATAKOLON with 25 knots in the nose! Not pleasant!
However, being able to anchor in 3 -3.5 metres on sand and mud, excellent holding, with 50 metres of chain, we were able to have a very comfortable night.
Relaxing today, as still strong winds against us, so ZAKYNTHOS will be for tomorrow.
Two huge cruise ships in the port here, as the interesting site of ancient OLYMPIA is just a short train/bus ride.
No swimming today, as the jelly fish have started to arrive!! I don't particularly like to share my swimming with these unfriendly looking creatures, maybe they do not sting, but ....I do not want to take the risk!
