Below...happy to meet LESLEY and BRUCE from New Zealand, who own a very big 44ft French made catamaran, called MIDI...ALSO BIG RUGBY FANS!
We certainly feel that we are on holidays again....this time in Ormos Naousis, the big indented bay on the north coast of Paros, with clear blue turquoise waters.
Although out of season, there are still many yachts coming and going in the bay, but there are certainly many places to tuck away, if one wants to be completely alone.
We are socializing, however, as possibly the last time this season, we will cross paths with our friends.
Naousa was once just a small fishing village, but has now grown into a tourist resort, with tourist prices!
However, one can understand why, as certainly 100% Cycladic with gleaming white washed village houses, blue doors and shutters, plus an endless choice of tavernas, bars and fashionable boutiques.
Barb and Con on BIGSKY are also 'holidaying' here...but our paths will separate shortly. They will be sailing to Cyprus for the winter, whereas we will be heading to Crete.
SULAIRE, Allison and Charlie are anchored nearby..also en route to Crete.
We have not seen Lulu and Philippe on JAD for over 3 years...great to catch up! Jad will be wintering on Leros.
The wind conditions have been very changeable recently, with many strong electrical storms circling around the Aegean Sea. Thankfully, here, we have been perfectly safe...with little rain.
Unfortunately other friends have not had it so easy...we have heard news of 60 knot winds up in southern Evia.
50 knots in Rhodes...in both situations, many boats have suffered damage.
Plus terrible flooding on the island of Skopelos, Sporades ......see photos below.
