Well, we were so fortunate that Sami was incredibly protected from the strong winds last week...whilst other places had up to Force 8, we had a max of 15 knots, although we did feel the surge... but certainly not dangerous or uncomfortable. After light rain fell during that night, we awoke to discover the boat covered in thick brown Sahara sand...HORROR...took us hours to clean it off....have never seen it so bad!! Time to move on again..... we had an amazing day of sailing....a fast downward roller coaster ride, all the way to Keri, southern Zakinthos.....hitting peaks of 9 knots, 'Pacific Pearl' was outstanding....obviously her skipper had control of that....10 hours, our longest day so far this season, of which we motored for 2 hours...winds 18 - 25 knots. Plus gorgeous weather again......what more does one want..... | Well deserved! MYTHOS beer time for Bruno on arriving..... just as we passed in front of this glistening white rock formation in the middle of the bay...impressive! We are anchored off the small village here, not many boats, but pleased to see our friends from 'Stormy Petrel' (photo below)NEVILLE & GOSIA, who arrived yesterday, and LORNA & SIMON on 'Elsa May' just anchored this afternoon....aperitifs will definitely be in order....!! FIRST REAL SWIM OF THE SEASON....AT LAST..LONG SWIM ASHORE TO THE BEACH....DELICIOUS! |
